We took this travel photo while sailing from Panama to Colombia for 4 days. We visited several Kuna villages established on the Islands of San Blas in Panama´s Caribbean. The Kuna often rowed from one island to the other in dugout canoes, some even with homemade sails.
Kuna or Cuna is the name of the indigenous people of Panama and Colombia. In the Kuna language, the name is Dule or Tule, meaning “people.” The Kuna live in three politically autonomous comarcas or reservations in Panama, and in a few small villages in Colombia. There are also communities of Kuna people in Panama City, Colón, and other cities. The greatest number of Kuna people live on small islands in the comarca of Kuna Yala. – Wikipedia

What a colorful photo! What are the things on the mother’s wrists?
These are jewelry specific to the Kuna people. The women wear them on their ankles and wrists. They are beads that are continuously wrapped around to form think bands. I bought a small one for my ankle that I could wrap around about 10 times and it became about an 2 inches thick. They make very beautiful ones that are colorful and with designs.
Waou ! Superbe photo comme toutes les autres

Very nice photo.
I love the Kuna people! We were fortunate to be there during their annual celebration of gaining autonomy. Such an amazing place…
Absolutely gorgeous photo, that jewelry looks incredible!
The jewelry is incredible. They build these from tiny beads. They are very delicate, but beautiful. Aracely purchased some.
