Mendoza Argentina Wine Pictures

Mendoza Wine Pictures
One of the most popular wine regions to visit in Mendoza, Argentina is Maipu.  Maipu is easily accessible from Mendoza by local bus or your own transportation.  The entire Mendoza wine region is most known throughout the world for it’s Malbec wines.  Experience the thin skinned grapes in a variety of vineyards serving the intense red Malbec wines.  The greatest reward for tasting wines in the Mendoza region is the dramatic landscape featuring the Andes (Los Andes) Mountains and high plains.

This compilation of Mendoza wine travel pictures was taken during our visit to the Maipu wine region in 2010.

Jason, great to see such a wonderful blog.

It’s really nice spending time on your blog.

Jason says:

Thanks for visiting and spending time with us.

Bonbons says:

I really love Argentinian wine, even though I am French!

Claire Waiksnoris says:

Great pictures! We’re on a 6 month trip through South America and made sure to stop in Maipu as well! Great experience but wished the weather were a bit cooler. It was high-90’s when we were biking!

Jason says:

I couldn’t imagine it being that hot, considering it was a lot of biking!

I don’t see why argentinian wine is so underestimated! It’s a great wine.

Nancie says:

My kind of day trip as long as someone else is driving! Great shots!

Juan says:

Great photos! I really like wine!.
Have you guys ever been to Ica, Peru? Ica is one of the most popular regions in Peru.

Jason says:

I didn’t visit Ica, instead we took a bus directly to Nazca. But, I will add to our list if we return.

I really like Argentinian wine :) So comparable to french one!

Michelle says:

Beautiful photos! I love wineries!

mendoza is the last city I have to make it to in Argentina and this def leaves nothing to the imagination. great pics

Jason says:

We weren’t big fans of the city itself, but we were fans of the region. Great landscapes and wineries all around you.

Sonya says:

Gorgeous photos! I love visiting local wineries.

Sofia says:

Beautiful pictures, what a nice scenery!

Brianna says:

These are really great pictures! I most especially love those jars hanging on the wall of he wine museum. They are shiny and really well taken care of. It is a very beautiful and neat wine vineyard too.

Jeff Didra says:

Heading to Mendoza and Maipu for harvest in a little over a month from now, do you have any recommendations for vineyards that we should visit?

Jason says:

There are several different wine regions in the area. Maipu, the one we visited is only one of many. The Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo are also popular. The only vineyards I could recommend would lie in the Maipu region, and even then we only visited ones we could access on bikes. I do recommend visiting the “Vines of Mendoza wine tasting place and spend some time there asking your server those questions.

Iain Mallory says:

Love a good Malbec, pity it is so late might have opened a bottle! Those fermentation vats are ridiculously clean! Thanks for sharing :)

Jason says:

They were a bit shiny.

Erica says:

Those wine pics are beautiful! It makes me want to head out to grab a good glass. I LOVE the textures that are caught on the barrel.

Jason says:

Thanks Erica. The museum was really cool for taking pictures.

Gerald Shulman says:

Really great pics!

Jason says:

Thank you Gerald. Glad to see you checking out our blog still!

Carole levinger says:

beautiful pics of a magical place the pics of the grapes on the vine make you want to reach out and try one…. and the old wooden vats make me think of years of perfecting their wines

Jason says:

Thanks for commenting Carole. The Wine Museum was really interesting. They shared a lot of information about the Italian immigrants bringing their wine techniques to Argentina. A lot of old antique tools.

Andi says:

Fantastic pics! I can’t believe I’ve been to Argentina 8X and have never been to Mendoza yet. Makes me angry haha. Must have Malbec in Mendoza…that’s being added to my Bucket List. :)

Jason says:

And you won’t be too far away… you have to get there soon.

Joya says:

Beautiful pictures! I hear the wine in Argentina is wondeful!

Jason says:

If you like Malbecs, then yes, its incredible! They ship them around the world, so see if you can find a bottle in your local store to try.

Ummmmm. Me want wine. Lots. Now, please :)

Shutterfly Travel Club says:

Love these! Have you guys ever been to Napa or Sonoma? I live in San Francisco and would love to know how the landscapes compare to the vineyards in Argentina!

Jason says:

Not yet, but we plan to visit this year! We will be able to compare then.

Shutterfly Travel Club says:

Looking forward to the comparison!

Kim says:

Great photos. I love the long shot down the aisle between the casks. Looks like a great place!
